I might as well continue blogging. cos i have a feeling my next post would be a year late..lol

If the post before this was a bit 'skema' or academic related, this one would be rather personal.

Sometime in mid of August this year, Mama was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
It came as a shock to EVERYONE.

Basically, Mama had been complaining for several weeks that she's always tired (and was down with fever several times), and the last time she was THAT tired was when she was pregnant with me (bcos it was also a fasting month). But she put down her lethargy to work load, age, and fasting month. Those 3 combined, are surely obvious reasons one would be tired than the usual.

However, she somehow 'tergerak' hati to do a blood count. She said she got the shock of her life when she looked at it. Her platelet count was very low. Mama said at that point, she was hoping it was Malaria. I guess at the back of her head, leukemia was probably one her possible diagnosis.

So she was admitted into Sg.Buloh Hosp that night, and her staff, the E.D department people were all doing their best to help. Several tests were done,and they managed to diagnose her within 24hours.

The next morning, she was transferred to Hosp Ampang (the centre for Hematology in Msia).

I was the first to know among my family members, I even knew before Abah because I was there when the doctor confirmed that she has AML.

Alhamdulillah, Allah is great, and with the help of prayers from a LOT of people, Mama went into remission after her 1st chemotherapy cycle.

She has undergone 3 cycles so far, and is left with another 2.

Basically the process is that she will go to the hosp, do a Bone Marrow Aspiration (to indicate the presence or absence of cancer cells). After that comes the Chemo cycle, for about 5-7 days. During chemotherapy, she will become neutropenic, whereby she will have minimal, or almost none White Blood Cells in her body. Therefore, she is VERY prone to ANY type of infections. What may cause the normal flu in us healthy ones, can cause serious secondary infections to her. And that is why, during that neutropenic stage, she isn't allowed any visitors to lower the risk of any infection (WE CELEBRATED HARI RAYA THIS YEAR AT THE HOSP!!). Next, she would have to wait for her White Cell Count to shoot up back again. This will normally take around 2-3 weeks. When her counts go up, she will be allowed to go back for home leave, for 2 weeks. When the 2 weeks time is up, she will need to go for her next Chemo Cycle.

If there are any changes, it would definitely be that she is bald now! But really, she looks great ;) Never been more beautiful ;) She also has some restriction in her diet. She also is now on 'vacation', cant work for at least 1 year. Some say that she does deserve the break cos she has been working too hard trying to save the world ;)

Amidst all this, there are few things that I managed to pick up.

The Prophet (PBUH) said: "When Allah desires good for someone, He tries him with hardships" [Sahih al-Bukhari]

And true enough, Mama is one of THE strongest person I know. And I'm not just saying that cos she's my mom.

Her doctors said, "Semua orang pun tau Dr.Sabariah is a very strong woman",

and her batchmates often say that "Jah is very strong".

Indeed she IS!

Mama has asked me twice,
"why do people always say I'm strong eh? Is it because I look tough or what? Why?"

Wellll.. Although we ARE close, I'm not really the lovey-dovey mushy type with my family,
so I answered,
"Of course! Cos u are strong! You are hardcore like that!"

LOL.

Some people say that PSYCHOLOGY is one of the most vital things that can make a cancer patient survive besides support system.

Alhamdulillah, my Mama is VERY strong emotionally, spiritually, & physically. Even the Doctors at the hospital are amazed at how cheerful, cheeky, and chirpy she still is after undergoing Chemo. She still laughs most of the time & make jokes with the doctors, and still (ahem, at times), speak like a Boss (which made some of the nurses scared! funny story!:P).

Until today, every time I pray, I pray to Allah to give her more strength & lessen her pain.

Another thing is that all this has made Mama, and also us closer to Allah. It makes you think that He is the Almighty, that you should not only seek Him in times of hardship, knowing that whatever health, wealth that we possess now can be taken away therefore we must always be grateful to Him. Whatever we have now, is because of His will. And in any given time, Allah LISTENS. So believe that Allah is there for his faithful servants.

Remember that prayers are POWERFUL.

I also did mention support system.

Alhamdulillah, our family is blessed to be around wonderful people. Family, friends. My uncles & aunties who agreed in a heartbeat for a Bone Marrow Transplant.

My Abah, who is a VERY caring, sweet & loving husband. He purposely shaved his head bald to join Mama ;) He goes to the hospital early in the morning, and leaves at night. Basically he spends most of his time at the hospital. And he said he couldnt really sleep at home not having Mama there, so sometimes he takes naps at the hospital in the evening. He cant really sleepover at the hospital cos he does need his rest & quality sleep on a proper bed. So during the holidays, most of the time I was sleeping over at the hosp sleeping on a mattress on the floor.

One of her biggest support system I would say is her TKC batch mates. She kept on telling the hosp staff about 'her friends of 40 years'. They were willing to offer all kinds of help to Mama, from buying her an MP4 cos hers was broken, a jacket from Melbourne to keep her warm, cooking her meals, and recently invited her to join Facebook! LOL. I know Mama updates & shares a lot with her batch group on FB, & it's good cos her friends motivate her a lot :)

Her friends all over, fellow doctors were also praying for her, there were a number of departments, and also other friends that performed Solat Hajat for Mama. We cant thank you enough for helping us deliver our prayers to Him. Mama also was given plenty stock of Air Zamzam.

Mama also kept reminding us to pray so that all the blood donors be blessed, insyaAllah :) I would like to thank all of you because if it weren't for YOU, my Mama wouldnt be getting her blood transfusion. You see how much pahala you get when you donate your blood? You can ACTUALLY save a person's life, insyaAllah :)

Wish I could though :( My family is forbidden to donate blood bcos our blood would be rejected, bcos we were in the UK during the Mad Cow Disease outbreak. Now that's another story..

Anyway, I would also like to extend my thank you-s to my friends who have been too caring :) Sorry if I have been a tad emotional at times, especially to Ebo & my girls. Your words of encouragement & prayers make me go through my hard times =)

What I noticed is that, in Msia, people often associate CANCER with death, where as if you see abroad, when you say CANCER, the words STRONG, SURVIVOR, or positive remarks would come to their minds. This is definitely a perception we need to change.

So tomorrow, insyaAllah, we will be heading to the Hosp for her 2nd last Chemo Cycle. I hope that ANYONE and EVERYONE will continue praying for Mama, so that she will continue to stay positive, and hopefully Allah will always protect our family.

Cant believe my blog is abandoned for so long. I didn't have the urge to blog and also the time.. (truth: micro-blogging a.k.a TWITTER is totally to be blamed!)

What I really should be doing is studying. I've opened my Immunology notes like hours ago but just cant seem to start. It's just too much to digest at this hour.

There's SO much of catching up to do. So i'll just write whatever that seems significant (or what crosses my mind) that happened while I was away..

Firstly on my studies, I managed to pass my 2nd year, Alhamdulillah. There was a bit of a worry for my 3rd sem, I had plenty of responsibilities & the credit hours were killing me, but luckily I managed. The 4th sem was slightly better.. What saddens me is that proceeding further & further into this course, my self-expectations seem to be lowered year by year. During my foundation, I wouldn't have settled for a B, I expected an A for all my results. Coming into degree life, especially Vet School, it's just so tough that I am content with just a 'pass'. My seniors told me it's normal to feel that way.

However, one thing got me thinking. Later when I get to my final year (which is my 5th year), I will need to sit for a COMPREHENSIVE EXAM that will consist of EVERYTHING that I've learnt throughout the whole programme. And we normally get external examiners. I was told by one of the lecturers what the examiners say about the products of DVM students from our faculty.

"Your top students are equivalent & are at par with the top vet students from other countries.. But you have a very long tail."

I dont want to be categorized as the 'tail'. But it's just so hard cause I am not motivated enough to study like MAD. I know gettin 'em grades is not everything, it is also more towards how you do practically. Problem is, I don't think I'm good at BOTH. One thing I know is I definitely have the passion, but is that alone enough? Definitely not.

So note to self; There HAS to be a MAJOR shift of attitude here.

Currently, I'm still in my 3rd year. Although most of my friends will be graduating next year, to be frank I'm fine with it. There's still A LOT that I need to learn & I'm definitely NOT ready to work. Some of my lecturers say that 5 years is not enough for this course, some countries require 6 years degree for DVM programme.

Other than that, sometime last year (if i'm not mistaken), I was elected as the VETERNAK (Veterinary Student's Association) President.

It was pretty unexpected. So besides classes, my days are mostly filled with things to worry about. LOL. I was told by the person from UPM's BHEP that VETERNAK if not the most, is indeed one of the most active student committee in the University. This goes to show that we vet students are not just nerds. We simply just cant stand doing nothing! The next AGM will probably be either end of this semester or early of next semester. A part of me cant wait to step down from the work load, but a part of me feels that I haven't done enough, like there's still a whole lot more things I could've done. I just really wish that my juniors are more enthusiastic in handling their responsibility. I believe they can, maybe they just haven't gotten to love the faculty yet.

DOGATHON 2011 was definitely one of the highlights this year. Cheng & I were the Co-heads for Publicity. Publicity work requires plenty of commitment, patience and determination. Every year for the past 14 years, Dogathon was held in August. However this year, due to the change in semester system, Dogathon was in October. It was a challenging task to spread that to the public. Although there was a slight decrease in number compared to the previous year, we managed to gather 915 canines in Bukit Ekspo, and as it stands, we still hold the record for the Largest Dog Gathering in Malaysia. Kudos to the committee & we hope that it will be bigger & better for the coming years. Good luck to my juniors that will be organizing it next.

Yeah, the last one menyibuk. LOL. We couldn't take English previously cos our schedule was too tight. Let's hope I'll produce better results this semester. But what's most important is that I can REMEMBER what's been taught & hopefully apply them when I enter my clinical years or when I go for practicals. OR, at least understand what my seniors are talking about every day when I attend 8am clinical rounds XD

Which reminds me, for 3rd year, we are required to do 8 weeks of practicals. So most probably I will not be all that free during holidays. I'll be doing 3 weeks of Poultry (somewhere in Selangor) during the Jan-Feb break, & during the June-Sept holidays, off to Sabah for 6 weeks; 3 weeks at Ruminant Farm + 2 weeks for Wildlife + 1 week jalan-jalan. (OMG I wont be spending my birthday in KL!)

I'm still keen with my plans of having my practical in the UK for my 4th year to fulfill my OLD TRAFFORD dream.. LOL. Wish me luck! Student mobility please be kind.

its kinda hard to keep blogging consistently..it really is. especially when u've got a lot of other stuff occupied not allowing u time to blog!

but i admit, even if i had the time, its due to my laziness. or just the fact that i have no mood to write. oh well here goes i'll try.

so as u know (or if u dont), i'm on holidays now..been on hols since end of april, and it will end in 2 weeks time, 12th july to be exact (nooooooooooooo!!!! *jerit in slow motion*). people usually say, woahhh lama NYE cuti fiqss! probably is, but now that its nearing to an end, i just wish it was longer :(

so what have i been up to? apparently this hols aint all hols for me!

i'll tell you why..since i have not been updating much (err..perhaps nothing at all). firstly, i'm kinda busy with my faculty events.

there's an event our faculty holds every year, its our 14th year running it, and its a MASSIVE event. its called DOGATHON. <--- please click to check the website =)

its THE biggest event our faculty organizes every year, and we work hard for it since last semester. everyone has their own work and are divided into divisions; and i got one of the busiest divisions-- PUBLICITY!!

each of us have our own tasks, well mine is to approach magazines, and get them to help us to promote this event for free (cos its a charity event).

so this hols i have been contacting them..and its not an easy job i tell u. none of the publicity work are, also sponsorship division. its bcos well 1st, the calling, the explaining, the waiting, then emailing, the follow-ups......... u got the picture!

but so far the responses are kinda good.. hope i did ok :)

and the publicity job will not only stop here. once sem opens, we're gonna be sooo occupied and busy. READY FOR KERAHAN TENAGA!! lol.

so to any of u reading out there, if u consider me a good friend (:P) u too, could help by promoting our event! just link the dogathon website to ur page, or just spread the word in which ever way u can! its for a good cause!=)

i really9 hope its gonna be a successful Dogathon this year =) oh btw it will be held on the 8th of august 2010, around 7-ish am to 2pm. and u dont necessarily have to own a dog to attend. just come and join d fun! :)

for muslims that are pet/dog lovers, feel free to come and play with the doggies, i will make sure that sabun samak will be provided that day :) but just be sure u bring a set of clothes to pray then!

now that's on Dogathon..next up is on VETERNAK.

in our faculty there are 2 clubs; VETERNAK & ZOOLOGICO. VETERNAK is more to student relation stuff while ZOOLOGICO more to the outdoor activities.

so i was selected as the VETERNAK committee some time ago. and each of us are assigned to handle particular events. so its not just me doing everything..duh :P but thing is u see, i think the seniors didnt realize that they gave me events that were ALL in the SAME sem :P :P

stuff to handle:

1. VETERNAK DOGATHON BOOTH

every year during dogathon we set up a booth mainly to raise funds for our club. we sell stuff like car stickers, badges etc etc. so it aint easy managing a BOOTH!! lotsa work i tell u..some work are being done as we speak, and when sem opens i gotta be sharp and work QUICK. cos remember i have my publicity obligations as well? LOL. its a good thing that i will have my other VETERNAK buddies to help me on this :) i asked my friend (jaie) to help design the stuff, knowing her, i know its gonna be soo nice :) hopefully the vet students will like the designs, agree with my plans, then hope to get an efficient affordable printing company, and lastly get everything sold out! amin :)

2. VET BULLETIN

i have Lya in charge with me as well! weeeee :) i like this a girl a lot, hopefully the two of us will come out with an awesome edition ;) it is kind of a big deal since the vet bulletin publishes very rarely..hehe. so we're already starting with the work this hols, as in gathering any materials that we need, outside help and all. and when the sem opens we have to manage time well to ensure we're on track with our work! and thank god we dapat permission from our boss, Eric Lim to publish a lil bit later than usual.. thanks boss! LOL

3. VET CAMP

vet camp is also one of THE biggest and anticipated events in our faculty. the 3-day-camp is organized by the DVM2s, for the DVM1s. since it involves 2 classes, u know why its a big event rite :) we had super fun last year! this year me & Kavin are the directors. we have started only a bit la..but we have met the previous director (Andy) to know what we need to do and everything, gotten the soft copy for documents and stuff. and he said that its gonna get messy! and its a loooooooooooooot of work! bcos u see, the camp usually takes place after final exams,during the holidays. so i'm gonna be like, worried for vet camp as well as my finals! yikes! pray that everything goes smooth sailing for me & Kavin yeah :)

well basically those 3 things are the things i'm in charge of, but there will be plenty of other on-going VETERNAK events that will require help from the committee!

so basically,if during the holidays u hear me say i'm doing some 'work', well thats the work!:P LOL.

other than that; heres what ive been up to during the hols which are worth mentioning:

3rd-9th may: practical at Sri Damansara Vet Clinic!=)

i'll blog about this later..i enjoyed the practical very much.. Dr.Low, Dr.Shah, Gennie & Dino have been real nice! speaking of which, i'm supposed to hand in a report about this practical when sem starts..and typical of me, i havent started a thing..yikes! but it MUST be done b4 sem starts..so PLEASE FIQSS!!

31st may-5th june: volunteer at DBKL Horse Unit at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa

with Dila, Shasha & Nadzmi. it was a pretty laid back voluntary work, nevertheless, we did learn a couple of new things on horses, and the best part was we got to ride the horses every single day ;) if i'm lazy to blog about it then i'll just post the pictures up then..LOL

oh and regarding my previous post, turns out, i didnt go to the demo =( i was so hyped about it, when suddenly in the morning i received sms from Mama- "dont go to the demo. the police has deemed it illegal". DAMN! msia is so stupid! its only a peace demo! i was sooo disappointed, i think it would have been OK if i just joined, but since Mama tak bagi (maybe cos shes afraid my scholarship kena tarik or wtv), i didnt go :(

but still, participating in the demo isnt everything. we can help by other stuff as well. like signing petitions, donating, and most importantly, DOA =)

12th june: K.Tessa's wedding :)

16th june: bday Shaza :) & Mama pergi Aussie.

22nd june: Abah pergi Aussie.

24th june: Orchestra Comp preliminary rounds at RTM, Sg.Gadut.

27th & 28th june: duty at MidValley Pet exhibition. helped out at the Pet N You booth.

besides all these, i have been on tonnes of movie marathons.. and shopping..damn it :S and the thing is, i've been out every single day of the week! even if i did not plan any of it! macam ada2 je have to keluar here & there.. gosh, this is what happens when u have a car i guess :O

but if u must know, although i have been out most of the time, my journey only extends to damansara.. hahaha :P i only ajak people to hang out at OU/Mutiara Damansara. bocs i malas mau drive elsewhere :P and besides, these 2 places tempat paling cool kot ;)

and for the upcoming events:

2nd july- Deynn's bday! also kena be a 'parent' and go to my sys' school to claim her report card!

3rd july- Bday paqin! weeeeeeeeee

4th july: Orchest Finals at PICC!

cant wait, hope TKC will win 1st again, amin =) i have faith that they can! cmon TKCians, if ure free come down and support the kyds!:)

and to make it more exciting, since my parents arent around (muehehehe :P), the girls will be sleeping over my house this weekend!:)

12th july: new sem starts! nooooooo!

so there u go..i guess these updates are enuff!

oh another thing, my sem 2 results are out- Alhamdulillah =) i'm kinda happy with the results, but then again, quoted by my seniors, sem 2 is the easiest sem to score Dean's List. and sem 3 (the one i'm about to enter!), is the HARDEST sem, whereby even a Dean's List student can fall below 3.0 pointer. damnnnnnnn :O

and with me having all those other faculty stuff on my mind........... all i can say is, when sem opens, i plan to be a robot. haha. as in, be efficient as i can in handling everything. this next sem shall be the heaviest credit hours, so not only will i be busy with those non-academic stuff, but also with my studies. thinking about next sem already gives me the chills.

so with this, i'm giving my friends the heads up- sorry if i'll be super duper busy once sem opens, and hope all of u will pray that i can pull off a superwoman ;)

as for now, hope i can utilize my holidays to the fullest!=)

i just wanted to spread the word that there will be a demonstration held this Friday (4th june) in front of the US embassy (around after Friday prayers, perhaps 2-ish pm) in order to protest against the curel attacks of the Zionists on the Gaza Aid ship recently. Malaysians are urged to show up,and please please bear in mind that this does not only concern the Muslims as they have committed a crime against humanity!

the ship was not only filled in by Muslims or Malaysians (alhamdulillah, all our fellow countrymen are safe), but also a lot of other activists from all over the world. and that is why protests are being held at plenty of countries around the globe.

as i have obviously never been involved in a street demonstration before, i was told that my scholarship/degree would be at risk if i joined. but then i did a lil googling and found out that under the Akta Universiti & Kolej Universiti pindaan 2009(AUKU) undergrad students are not allowed to join demonstrations that are related to politics (from my interpretation). this is clearly a peace demonstration so it should be fine.

please please keep on praying for them. it makes me sad to think that while we are here living happily & peacefully in comfort, with more than enough food & water, there are lots of our brothers and sisters that are suffering. we should be grateful. really grateful for what we have.

so i made it a point to myself not to buy any shoes by not entering any shops that sell shoes..haha. and believe it or not, i was sober since february!

the plan was not to buy any shoes or shop until my scholarship money for next semester is received (which should be in july)

when suddenly, magically... the money was banked in around last week.

i thought to myself,

i went mad shopping alone the other day..haih. and now i know, i should NEVER be left alone at a shopping mall. i mean i've always known..but this time i went alone by choice. (sebenarnya bcos all my gfs werent free and i was so gian to just go out and shop)

and i was uncontrollable.

i had to go inside the fitting room several times, and to the cashier counter few times as well (sebab tak cukup tangan..benci tak?)

and the thing is, its not that i dont feel guilty when i splurge like hell. i do. i do feel awful. but still..i couldnt bring myself to stop.

u might think, why should i be feeling those? shouldnt i be happy and satisfied?

happy- of course.

satisfied- i will never feel its enough...hahah

well its bcos..if u noticed, it is my SCHOLARSHIP money. so its kinda wrong to spend it on things i want instead of the things i need. i should be saving up for the future. i mean sikit2 boleh la, but not too much.

and i'm not rich. i do NOT come from a rich family. my mom always nags me all the time when she sees that i have new shoes & bags.

"mama takot betul tengok you ni..nanti u dapat your first pay check macam mana?? it will finish sekejap je you shop. jangan lah, save-save la duit tu"

and my parents work hard to gain money for us. i mean it implies to anyone as well la. i mean, orang lain punya lah susah cari money to eat, while i easily, compulsively shop?

Adek & Abang

suddenly remembered something funny.

if you dont know, Adek & Abang are the names of my cats. Adek is still here and fine, very much her naughty lil self, while Abang left us few years back =( i miss him a lot. he was the only tom left in the family. sighs. and he was big!! and innocent muka pengecut =) we miss Abang a lot. i'm sure deep inside Adek misses him too, but she doesnt really show it. it's a good thing that Pwincess is kinda sisterly although she's not Adek's sister.

actually, Adek's real name is Alex, while Abang's real name is Max. but Abah was not fond of the name, so he main suka je call them that, and then the name sticked. LOL.

ok ok, yep, back to the funny story.

awhile a go, we had a maid, we called her k.min.

ok ok, lets say, if u were my neighbours and had no clue that Abang & Adek are cats, what would u think if u heard k.min yelling all of these out:

listening to crappy sad love songs made me remember the pain of Chelsea lifting the EPL trophy yesterday! Damn!

haha. call me pathetic, but it means a lot to me & the team.. Sheesh.

although it's really heartbreaking, it still doesnt change the fact that Chelsea deserved to win. damn you Anchelotti. scoring 5-0 few times, 7-0 twice, and 8-0 at the last day..how can they not? and they really did bounce back right after every downfall when they were knocked out of the champions league, or after every defeat, not to forget Terry & Cole's scandals.. they managed. So with that, i would like to say congrats to Chelsea FC, and look out for us next season ;)

it really feels weird looking at blue ribbons wrapped around the trophy rather than red, and no celebration at Old Trafford.

both Chelsea & Man Utd won 27 games. the difference is that Man Utd lost 7 & drew 4, while Chelsea lost 6 & drew 5.

now lets have a look at the losses:

1. burnley 1-0 (away)

if there was one game i could turn back to, this was it. its BURNLEY! freakin' Burnley! they're freakin relegated!=.=' This was our 1st defeat and it was our 3rd game of the season. sure, we dont usually kick off the campaign great, but a defeat against a newly promoted team did cost us. very much indeed.

2. liverpool 2-0 (away)

i remembered Torres was back from injury and scored an early goal. & Vidic was sent off towards the end, allowing Liverpool to get their 2nd goal. FYI, Vidic has been sent off against Liverpool 3 times in a row! Haha. get a grip man, we cant afford to lose you :P Thank God we won at home though.

3. chelsea 1-0 (away)

despite losing this one, i remembered the team displaying a great performance, u could say we dominated the match and kept possession. we were only short of the goals. Terry headed in a goal.

4. aston villa 1-0 (home)

i couldnt remember whether this was one of those days where everything seemed wrong, or we put on an awful performance.

5. everton 3-1 (away)

Brown & Evans played in CB, and it was a tiring week playing AC Milan just few days before.

6. fulham 3-0 (away)

remember when A LOT of our defenders were out injured? & and Carrick & Fletch were shifted to play centre back? no explanation needed as of to the loss. Haha. Sobs

7. chelsea 2-1 (home)

it was a tough match, but i really felt it shouldve been a draw. remember Drogba's DAMN STRAIGHT CLEAR CUT OFFSIDE goal? stupid linesman.

Conclusion: we shouldn’t have lost that many games.

however, this season has been one interesting season. it was a 3 horse race which towards the end became a 2. but another interesting thing was the hottest 4^th placing at the table. and the fact that it seemed like ANY team could beat the top teams at ANY time. twist & turns.

Arsenal as usual started the season strong only to fall towards the end as usual. you can blame the injuries like you always do everytime, but that is why the squad depth is important. if RVP can stay fit all season long (and we all know thats quite impossible), there would be no need for a back up striker. if another player can bring such influence when Fabregas is out, it should be fine. Back up CBs for Vermaelen & Gallas to add an edge. and just get a better back up goalie instead of Fabianski who has done enough damage. how can i say this nicely to Wenger, i guess i just cant. u need to spend dude, for the sake of your fans. 5 seasons is it without ANY trophy? that is very demoralizing.

i couldnt remember if it was the FA cup or the Carling Cup, but Arsenal looked like they could actually win it, when Wenger decided NOT to field his 1st 11 (perhaps considering the next league game in mind), and they went on and lost. it was such a pity. cmon dude, at least 1 cup for the fans than nothing?

Liverpool have had their worst finish since 1999. Benitez 'promised' everyone a fourth place finish was an assurance. Hahaha. 4 plus 3 that is!! Haha. they finished 7th place! No more CL appearance for them, and they didnt even make it to the UEFA Cup Finals! (Good Luck FULHAM!!). it's really a shame though, given a club with such great history. MAJOR changes must be made to the club. first things first, please lah sack Benitez! like CRIUZLY. i hear he keeps blaming the insufficient funds to buy players, but thats when u gotta think smart and utilize the money u have (like Wenger). and sometimes his team selection is just nonsense. cmon Liverpool, i would like to see you bounce back. if not, forget one of the world's best strikers, Torres staying there. his talent should not go to waste. Gerrard hasnt been at his best this season (talk about gifting a goal to Chelsea LOL).

i know we STILL havent managed to beat your 18 league titles, but we're in a better place; chasing our 19th instead of struggling to even reach 4th place. sorry :)

so Spurs finished 4th place! Congrats!:) Harry Redknapp was named Manager of the season. i believe it is a fair decision. although Anchelotti won with Chelsea in his debut season, but he has a great squad that are capable of winning games even without the greatest manager. but Harry, completely turned Spurs' season around. i could still recall Spurs were at the bottom of the table when Juande Ramos was sacked, and when Harry took over, they started winning a lot of games, the team even played better. so they deserve it. Peter Crouch must be happy, if he stayed at Liverpool not only is he not given enough playing time, he wouldnt even feature in CL next season. LOL. lookin forward to watch em play in CL ;)

Man City were quite close to finishing at 4th place. it has been entertaining watching their games this season, and i believe they'll come back stronger fighting for that 4th spot, provided they make major spendings later, which they will!

Burnley, Pompey & Hull City will be relegated, giving way to Newcastle Utd to make a come back in the league, alongside West Brom, and Cardiff City or Nottingham Forest.

despite finishing 2nd, i would say it has been a positive season.

this season we saw how Rooney filled in the boots of Ronaldo, being the talking point of almost everybody, anywhere. its so amazing to see how he has grown from a person unable to control anger (u do remember that version of him rite? haha) to a very mature role model & leader. kalau dulu, he would be the one in a fight, this time around he'll be the one trying to resolve a fight. LOL. i hope he stays at Man Utd for life. and i hope you will fire England for the World Cup. Cmon man!

Evra has been our most consistent player this season. i only remember him not starting against Blackburn (in which later on he did come on as a sub). and i personally would regard him as the best LB if not in the world, in the EPL at the moment.

Berba has failed to impress, and it sucks! i had such high expectations when he was first signed. sometimes when u see him play, u tend to see how brilliant his techniques are, giving thru balls, sliding away between defenders, making awesome passes, BUT, u can also see that side of him that misses chances presented to him, that thinks a wee bit too much instead of just striking the ball at the back of the net. haih. as much of a good player he is, unfortunately, his inability to step up when Rooney is absent, his lack of goal scoring as a striker, is just NOT worth the 30.75mil price tag on him. kecewa..

the old lads, Giggsy & Scholesy were big influences to our performance this season. what can i say, theyre just legends. and certainly hard to replace. but i do see Darren Gibson replacing Scholes :P

Carrick didnt have a good season. he missed a penalty at Burnley! Grrr. haha. but really, as Fletcher became better and better and more important to the team, Carrick seemed to fade away this season.

Valencia, a significant signing, although he wasnt all that consistent, but he was more consistent than he wasnt. as time goes by, his crosses became more and more deadly. he has made a number of assists, we just need him to score goals. Hmmm...

Nani! if there's one player i'd look forward to seeing next season, its him alrite! he's had his share of great and awful performances. but to me, players like Nani, they need more playing time, to be given the chance to prove themselves. and i'm glad towards the end of the season Fergie gave him the opportunity, and he delivered =)

hope we can come back stronger next season and be more consistent. it really sucks big time to see the Cup presentation being held at Stamford Bridge, it feels awfully strange all at the same time. and i dont like the feeling a tiny bit. i'm glad that my dearest Hargreaves is back =) i think we need to spend money on a stiker. yup. an explosive one please ;)

regarding the FA Cup, it was a bummer that we freakin' lost to Leeds Utd. & now Chelsea are going on to lift the cup for the second time against Pompey this Saturday.. Damn it!:(

on the UCL, i agree with Fergie that it was a big letdown. we couldve won it if Rafael was not sent off (urghh! he still has so much to learn! good thing he was outstanding before he got his second yellow). although u cant cross out that awesome Robben goal, still, we looked like we should win it. urghhhhh down down.

i'm not sure which to support- Inter or Bayern for the finals. maybe Bayern so that United wont look all that bad losing to the Champs :P And so that Mourinho's head shall not grow bigger & bigger.. LOL

so that's it.. we finished the season with winning the Carling Cup only, how odd is that? sheesh. but i will stand by my team no matter what and still chant Glory Glory Man Utd =)

usually i'll be all sad that the season has ended, but lucky me there's World Cup to look forward to!!! Wohoooo~

and most of the due dates are early this week.

i'm home now, i havent been home in 3 weeks, which is a totally new record set for me. ever since i left TKC, i'll always go home over the weekends, or the longest in 2 weeks time. i've missed my cats so so so so MUCH! u have no idea :(

owh, congrats to my lil bro for the awesome results in his SPM. we're really REALLY proud of u. gempak ah, bak gene pandai tu sini sket bleh?=P congrats also to our CS kecik for getting top 10 in Msia :)

the above assignments may appear like a damn packed schedule to some of u but believe me, this is NOTHING compared to what i'm gonna face in my next 4 years as a vet student. right seniors? yup yup yup, we vets are NO nerds, mind u :)

i really cant wait for the physio test to end, nak pergi KARAOKE! haha as usual. and i HAVE to catch up with the entertainment aspect of my life. i'm so far left behind. LOL. i've got endless tv series waiting to be seen; how i met ur mother, gossip girl, greys anatomy, american idol, one tree hill... gosh. marathon sakan nanti.

however, the insanity cant be extended for long as my finals will be approaching pretty soon =(

on another note, Man Utd won 2-1 against Liverpool at home. Job done. although not the sweetest revenge i had hoped for... but whatever, who cares about Liverpool now, they can never catch up. just have to hope Chelsea will drop points, but its gonna be a bit hard considering since theyre out of the CL (haha), they now have the upper hand to concentrate on the EPL. hmmm.

quarter finals of the CL fated us with Bayern Munich. we can go through, provided that we do not take em for granted and play at our very best. Barca will be meeting Arsenal, its a tough one to call but an interesting one to look forward to indeed, as both teams sorta have quite a similar style of play. i would probably go for Barca, Arsenal can go through if they get a lot of goals at home though. Inter will surely march on instead of CSKA, failure to do so would be a shocker. Bordeaux VS Lyon.. not really concerned to be frank.. haha.

was the day that changed my life. i dare say i wouldnt be the person i am today if not for this place.

this pic was taken during Talentime 2002 in our Freshie Year. the fourth formers that time was in charge of us. we had unforgettable memories during practice. irreplaceable ones =)

if i'm not mistaken the date was 02/02/02, at 2pm :) i performed 3 songs, a duet of Kau Mawarku (which i totally sang sangat2 buruk hahaha) with Che3n, Doing That Thing You Do with Minn & the Acapella team, and also a solo of Spanish Eyes accompanied by Bo-e playing the piano (my singing was a disaster! i had no idea why i was selected at that time if u ask me! LOL)

i wont be able to stop writing if i were to tell you every detail of my life there. to sum it up, i would say that our Sophomore year was the year we all bonded and got to know each other, and it also spelled FUN FUN FUN! also jadi kuli batak seniors :)

Third year was a year to test our developing batch spirit, through PMR. but having a major examination did not stop us from participating in koko activities. after PMR life was total madness. skipped EVERY class there was. duh!

Fourth year was the year of conflicts and dramas. Haha. n yet we were so so so occupied with college activities. BUSY was our middle name, as well as BREAK. haha! we would try and break any rules we possibly could, well at least, that was me XD

Our final year was, the FINAL year. everything was our last. last Orchest Comp, last band performance, last Sports Day, last English Drama, last time buang share dalam dining hall... anything you can think of.

it was a very very emotional year. having to be separated from friends u've lived with under one roof for five years. the bestfriends who know you inside out. the sisters that you know will hold your hand tight and have ur back no matter what, and understand your silly tak jadi jokes, comfort you in a way like nobody else can, or accept your flaws as something unique or special, laugh, cry, eat, sleep, together.

this is a picture of our Graduation Night. and the Acapella team performed for the last time, plus a few new faces :) We sang Aint No Mountain High Enough, Yesterday & I'll Be Missing You.

it has been 3 going 4 years since i left college, which marks our 8th Anniversary today, or perhaps our bday. hehe. Happy Bday Knights!!=D

i hope that when we organize our batch gatherings next time, more people can show up. rindu laaaa :(

the sisterhood bond we've created shall never ever die. how do i know this? from my mom :) her batch is in their 50s yet they still meet up during their free time. in fact, the other day my mom just went to a dinner (not the fancy OGA dinner, a sempoi get together with her batch mates), and she came back home late!! (nearly 1 am ok, she never comes home that late unless for emergency cases at work). and when she came home, she had this smile of satisfaction, and she even shared with us what they did that nite. my sister and i both agreed that we havent seen her had that much fun for so long :)

crapppp. i miss you girls!! and we're turning 21 this year. damn. u kiddin me? how time flies. next thing i know all of you will be working, married, beranak cucu semua! ok ok. just please jangan senyap2, invite everyone ok =)

here i would like to wish Good Luck to all of you in whatever field u're doing now, remember that when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. we're strong girls with beauty, brains, and talent remember?:P LOL. dont forget to pray and support me too =) hantar alllll ur pets to me and not to other vets! where we at Msia?

i was looking through my blog entries for the entire year, and i must say i quite enjoyed 2009 :) there were few ups & downs, but i could say most things went well. it was an exciting year. 2008 was rather flat.

regarding my new yrs resolution; nothing specific really. but for now, what i can think of is:

avoid last minute studying..keep on track
shop less, save up ur money for Old Trafford fiqss, and the FUTURE. less shoes, less clothes, less jeans, less bags! (i cant really say no more, that would be a drastic n impossible change to make..heh)
try to sit in front for all classes; no matter how lame or boring it is (vet nutrition =.=')
minimize the use of plastic bags! cmon ppl!!
mengaji more often please
bond with Ryan when u're free, he misses u fiqss!
get a group of girls to play weekly futsal with me..haha
improve on ur direction skills. taknak waste petrol sesat literally EVERYWHERE?! sheesh (did i tell you, this one time i got lost, nearly reached Bentung, PAHANG ok! luckily sha's parents came to fetch poor fiqss =P)
since i'll be turning 21 (oh my..), its about time i took serious interest in politics a bit. yknow, we're eligible to vote. i wouldnt wanna be voting based on nothing.

i know this is loooooong overdue. but i just had to post it so that i wont forget =)

oh gosh, i totally forgot who was the first person to wish me that day! but but, i think it was bash+aleefa. and then probably dann =) thanks!!

so that morning, these two came to my house without notice and kidnapped me, told me they're bringing me somewhere. i had no idea where that was but we finally stopped at this tasik in shah alam.

they blind folded me for godsakes! and it was for quite some time ye :P i had no idea who was there, and how many, but i could guess that they were snapping away candid pics of me! hmmph!

so thennn, tadaaaa! here are my sweethearts!=)

i was quite surprised bcos as much as i know they're awesome friends, its kinda hard to gather all of us at one time. like realllyy hard. so i appreciate it a lot that all of u managed to come down for me. thanks a lot =)

although beddie was missing, these two ipoh contingent wakil kan her! hehe. thanks for coming aak n hales =)

would you look at the food! i wonder how long it took them to prepare it. and it was alll for me, i mean for my special day. dah laaa both sedaaap! thank you so much girls!=) if rajin, can cook for me some more? hehehe :P

oh wait! how can i forget! we managed to finally get a spot, at this table. when suddenly, we were approached (not really), by this orang gila! hahahaha. how can we tell he was a bit off?

welll, he just came up to us out of nowhere, and freakin put his hands inside the tuppaware full of our mee hoon! waaaaaaa. he wanted to attack the cupcakes as well but yajay stood firm defending it! haha!

some of us tried our best tahan gelak, while some of us were pretty scared (agak-agak la kan siapa tu XD) so we moved elsewhere.

oh and urm, obviously we gave the orang the entire tuppaware for him to eat. hehe

nadai baked, yes, she baked me n paqin (belated) cupcakes! the cupcakes are as sweet as you honey! thanks sayang!=)

then the party continued with a lot of eating, but more of camwhoring! siapa makan cili dia terasa pedas! not me yeah :P

i would like to say a gazillion thanks to sha, shika, yajay, nadai, bo-e, paqin and ayie for having to go through all that trouble to make my birthday a memorable one. and indeed it was =) you girls are the best!=D *hugggggggs*

to beddie, i know u obviously wanted to come but there were miscommunication and difficulties kan, so no worries, there's always next time. though we're already 20 i still feel kinda young ;) cheyh..hehehe

thens, i spent the evening with bashirah & aleefa =) they took me to a place called Palette Palette. the food was so-so but the place was super nice!:D

and....they baked me a birthday cake!!!! they said it took them few hours, like probably the whole nite to make it, and i get why. LOOK AT IT!!!! isnt it bloody awesome????? hehehehe. love it damn much, and not only does it look good, it taste as good TOO!:D damn nak lagiiii! ehhehe

no words can describe how fortunate i am to have u two around! thanks for the treat, the cake, for just being there and making my day =) i know u guys had other plans if i could continue at nite but i had to get home. nvmind, u can save that for next yr maybe?:P ahahahah. thanks a lot lot lot! sayang u two!=)

afterwards they sent me home, and it at home, it was followed by the traditional makan cake with family ritual. LOL

later, s.e came to give my bday gift. aint he the best??;) hehehe. he gave me something he knew i wanted and needed :) a guitar tuner! weeeee. now Ryan wont be out of tune ever again :P thanks tau s.e, appreciate having u around all these years!

so that was what happened on the day of my bday. there were a few belated bday celebrations, like the one from my classmates; dila mew ku wawa mas mad fadh chiaki anis & diah. thank youuuu so much girls for the pizza and coke, two of my favourites ;)

its impossible to list down every single wish i got because it has been 5 months since my bday and yeah, i kinda dont have a good memory! heh. but if u did wish me, doesnt matter via sms, mms, fb, call or whatever way, know that i really2 do appreciate it :) i believe that bdays are very important as to remind someone how special they are, in their own unique way. so thank YOU thank YOU thank YOU!=)

soooo, i'm turning 21 next year. gosh how time flies...

to me evra has been the most consistent player in the utd squad. sometimes i feel he doesnt deserve enough acknowledgement as he should be getting! so heres to you evra- ure an awesome left back :D

despite this man's age, i still adore seeing ryan giggs playing along the flanks, making absolutely fantastic passes, and of course dribbling the ball!:)

there were few amazing movements through out the game, similar to the match against chelsea. but fortunate this time to get goals! heh.

i thought rooney was very helpful, but he wasnt very sharp at his shots and passes. we need u back man!

brown so far has been quite ok surprisingly filling in at centre back alongside vidic or evans.

man city have been drawing game by game! and if i'm not mistaken liverpool have only won 1 match in their last 9 games now. scary aint it?

i didnt watch the match from the beginning. what i heard were the commentators saying it was a dull 1st half. lucky me, when i started watching, it was 1-0, missed the skrtel goal. managed to see the others. adebayor's goal was a bummer to concede, ireland made a fine finish (thank you, sumbang lah sikit points untuk fantasy team), but one of the typical life saver for liverpool, yossi benayoun then equalized. damn you!!

Arsenal 0-1 Sunderland

yup,u heard me, arsenal lost!:) goes to show how much of an impact van persie gives to the team, eduardo wasnt supported enuf up front. i thought arshavin shouldve started the game, why didnt he eh? steve bruce's men are quite a bunch of disciplined lads, well done! so now utd go 2nd in the table, but arsenal still have a game in hand.

Chelsea 4-0 Wolves

sakit hati betul. tengok arsenal match, sikit2 goal updates from this match! grrrr. although a few key players were missing, they got quality in their squad so they didnt really break any sweat. but yeah, squad tua :D

i read that Hiddink might return to Chelsea considering Russia did not qualify for the world cup (such a bummer! they were sensational during euro!!). however, anchelotti's job shall not be interefered. so what? will they have 2 coaches?? LOL. ask roman abramovich that fiqss.

speaking of world cup, i pity Ireland the most. sometimes i feel its about time football implemented technology in play. video evidence. whats the problem? if u're saying that the momentum of the game will be disrupted, am not asking for as frequent interruptions macam rugby, just maybe something like tennis? where u can challenge the ref a couple of times only during the match. i dunno. figure it out. football will always be exciting and unpredictable. its about time it became fair. this is just what i think. i still have not found the rational on why they dont wanna change this. if u happen to know, please do share it with me!

the 1st semester

just felt i should sum up the semester i had.

on the subjects i took-

INTRODUCTION TO THE VETERINARY PROFESSION

the ONLY subject i'm confident of getting an A. if i dont then,.......... ok lets not go there. we got the coolest n youngest lecturer--> Dr.Ooi. He is damn understanding and considerate i tell you :)

So in this course, we were exposed to the veterinary profession (as the title course is lah. LOL). i remembered having to listen to few talks. few were boring, few were interesting (everything cant be perfect). there was this talk given by our seniors that just graduated, they kept reminding us how fun life as a vet student is. and i believe em :) looking at my seniors, i think that vet students, well, we're certainly not nerds. we like to have fun all the time and just study when its neccessary XD LOL. another doc said,

"owh, for the next 5 years, forget about ur weekends"

not entirely true though, but yeah, when i go into 2nd yr, i'm gonna take this course (ethology if i'm not mistaken) which shall take up most of my sundays =S

the highlight of this course was when we had to go for rotation. one monday we were with the cattles and the horses, the next monday with the cats and dogs!=) we learned basic stuff such as how to take their TPR (temperature, pulse & respiration rate), how to approach these animals, how to restrain them, etc etc. also were introduced to some of the lecturers we're bound to meet in the years to come.

as for now, my mind & heart is still going strong that i wanna stream myself into small animal practice, but there's another 4.5 yrs to go, who knows i might have a change of heart? but i hardly believe it wont change though =)

the highlight of this course was our assignment, which took about 40% of our finals marks if i'm not mistaken. we had to do a poster, a slide presentation, and a folio based on the topic we got. my group had to do on exotic birds. and we were named the best group!=) lucky me i was stuck with quite gud groupmates; kavin, lin & dayah-- thanks a lot ;)

ANIMAL AGRICULTURE

as getting through the lectures were a wee bit excruciating (9 am class, no hps allowed, and ahem ahem my classmates would know what i mean. LOL), i find this course very very interesting. it gives you an insight to just how MUCH agriculture affects our daily lives. how very dependent we are on it. at first we also had to memorize few species' name, it actually came out in our 1st test.

the question gave us a breed- Khaki Campbell (breed of a duck)

we had to give the answer, it was- Anas platyrhynchos

i totally forgot, know what i asnwered?- Anas Pavlyuchenko.

hahaha. good thing Dr. Sumi doesnt watch football XD

we also learned a few other basic things like how a goat's meat is actually called chevon. so actually i think there's a misconception in our community. when u say, owh we're gonna have lamb, u do mean u're eating kambing rite? so kambing is goat. and goats meat is not lamb. lamb is a newborn sheep. we dont eat sheep (biri-biri) kan? or DO WE? maybe we do? this is confusing. LOL.

and also how mozarella is from buffalo's milk. loads more.

but i must say the practicals have been fun, and from the practicals are how we (or at least,i) find it easier to remember things. our practicals have been really9 useful and we were exposed to a LOT of new things. during our 1st practical, we had to actually herd the cattles into the holding yard. we were divided into 6-7 groups, and each group had around 10++ students. each group had to handle around 6 (or less) cattles. funny thing was only one group were successful (they were the last group so probably the cattles were bored already :P). later on wards when we learned more, we got to know that if you know how to handle em, only 1 person could've actually settled all the cattles. simple.

fyi- UPM is sooo big because of the ladangs we have i tell you!

we also had a visit to a farm a week b4 our finals. we had to do some blood and feces collection. YES, u heard me rite! we had to stick our finger in the goat's anus and collect their feces. but it wasnt really disgusting as their feces were in a pelleted form. it was really funny though. at times it seemed like the goats were chasing us rather than us having to restrain them! LOL. during the blood collection, some of our hands were shaky (1st timer lah kata kan)

the owner of the farm kept on emphasizing that dealing with animals require u to have strong bonds with them, chemistry. and i'm glad i just L-O-V-E animals!=)

overall, this course very interesting indeed =D even IF i wont get an A (chances are i wont), i can proudly say i benefited a lot from it, and hopefully i will remember all these basic things which i shall use forever!

VETERINARY BIOCHEMISTRY

basically we learn biochemistry just like the rest of you guys do (referring to medical biochemistry that is). but when i was studying, i just got to know that we had a few additional topics which our seniors didnt learn when they had biochem. some of our topics consists of immunology (1st yr, 2nd sem kot?), and also physiology (2nd yr, 1st sem). huhu

unfortunately, i HATED this course so much through out the semester. its not cos of THE subject. i know i should NOT let him demoralize me. bcos along the way we wont always find a lecturer that will suit our needs. but in this case, we just needed a LECTURER. haihs. i dont want to further elaborate on this. i DO agree that in university life, you're on ur own. u shouldnt be dependent on others. but i do believe that no matter how clever or intelligent u are, you still need guidance. some of you may disagree, only my classmates would agree on this cos we've been through it. bummer.

i know i COULD do better if i could do it all back since the 1st test (which i think i miserably failed :S yup, we still do NOT know our total carry marks mind you!), but u cant unwind things. let this be a lesson learnt to myself. do not let things get to you. do NOT abhor what u learn!

if any other student is aiming for an A, sad to say i'm only aiming to pass this one (bcos if i fail, i cant continue to vet nutrition next semester). and fyi, the passing grade has gone up from 40 to 50 =S i really do hope i wont fail. please no :(

i am really really really scared for the results. but i'll just pray to Allah i'll get the best out of what i've worked for. if i get really bad results then, i probably didnt work hard enough, or i might have committed sins and so i dont deserve good results? u-huh.

the only good thing worth mentioning is during our biochem presentation, which took around 10% of our final marks i think, my group got the best group!=) we presented on jaundice in animals :) good job guys- dila cheng mew & tim :)

FUTSAL

mission NOT accomplished. i still suck at playing :( and i do not enjoy outdoor futsal. gelap la weyh. dah cukup gelap. LOL. indoor futsal pleeease =)

on accommodation at kolej:

unlike my old kolej (K13), K17 has the best facilities. the futsal court is RIGHT in front of my block!:D and next to it is the basketball court! weeee. the house is like an apartment style, which consists of 4 rooms, 2 person in each room. so make that 8 ppl in a house. i can say my hse is special compared to the other houses :P why? because we have DVM1,2,3 & 5 in our house! other houses only have 1 batch. hehehe. and i LOVE mingling with my seniors. thank god seniors my housemate best+baik+sempoi lah kan :D its always easy to refer to stuff we dont know of, ask for their notes, and loads more. and of course to kacau2 them all the time,sorry :P LOL

and, and.. jeng3! meet chicky & junior!=) (k.leen's cats. they live with us in the house). these two have criuzly lightened up my days in kolej by accompanying us while we stay up. play with us when we're bored, and just for being plain adorable!=D

HOWEVER, unlike my old kolej, there's no ASTRO in our respective blocks! so i need to go to the cafe to watch bola. actually it was never a problem (i dealed with it well last sem), UNTIL, the cafe changed tender. the cafe generally closes at midnight. so the last tender was nice enough to let us watch late nite matches. be it at 4am, i would casually just go down to the cafe, take the smart card underneath the computer keyboard, switch the tv plug on, switch everything on. and watch bola in the dark. LOL. but nowwww, the new tender doesnt allow us to do THAT. they take the astro smart card home for reasons that theyre afraid somebody might steal it (as if lah, selama ni sihat walafiat je kot). but the truth it, they wont let us have the astro smart card cos its not owned by the cafe, but one of their workers. so the dude wants to take the card n watch it at home. kedekut! we freakin give u hell lots of money EVERYDAY, is it so hard to just LET us watch bola around JUST TWO DAYS in a week? (ok la, maybe more during CL season).

haihh. i am clealry bugged by this matter. my life was almost perfect until these peeps showed up! is it so hard for a girl to watch her footie matches??? urghhhh! i cannot, and will NOT tolerate having to commute back home every weekend like i used to just to watch bola, or also run to other klj for the same purpose. and mind u our curfew is at 12. if not dah lama selumber keluar. and plus, it would be just easier to watch at the cafe, duh.

therefore, i talked with one of the pakcik cafe.

"kalau nak tunaikan permintaan awak sorang je nak tengok bola, mana boleh"

"ok, kalau macam tu, saya mintak sign ramai2 orang. beratus pun boleh" *confident tone*

"ok boleh. janji ramai orang beli air" =.='

so THEN, i was rejoiced. until....

i found out that the pakcik i dealt with is NOT the owner of the cafe. so even if i DO get all those signatures, it might not work.

help me please :(

nak kata the food is better from the old tender, tak lah jugak. sheesh.

finally have my OWN CAR!!!!!!!!!!!

can u believe it?? neither can i!!

u see, i havent been home for about 2 weeks, and in that period of time, my mom kept on bugging me when am i gonna come home. i didnt feel suspicious bcos she kinda asks every weekend whether i'm coming home or not :) ( i know, sweet rite? hehehe)

so THEN, when i came home, i saw a silver kelisa parked inside my house.

"kelisa sapa tu abah?"

"kawan abah punya. tumpang kat sini."

"huh??"

later on they revealed it was MINE!!! heheehhe :D :D

she doesnt have a name, yet =) i'll name her when i've got to know her. i've only driven her once, which was just around the neighbourhood. since its a second hand car, she needs a few repairing here n there. next week hopefully it'll be fit for a full swing drive ;)

too bad i'm only allowed to drive it around KL. was hoping i could bring it to my practical though.

but nway, arent my parents the best?? sangat baik ok. i never asked for a car. i dont think i ever hinted pun. but i've always wanted one (duh), but more, i kinda needed a car actually. my life would be way easier if i had one. and now i HAVE one! alhamdulillah. thank youuu mama & abah!=)))

now i need to brush up on my directions. no not brush up. nurture :S my sense of direction is awful i tell you. put it this way. i've been in UPM for 2 yrs, this is my 2.5 yr. and only now have i truly gotten to know how to reach UPM from my hse ok. yes i'm THAT terrible :S

so alright, i have to go now. Vet Camp awaits! thank God theres no EPL this weekend cos sure as hell i cant watch any footie in the middle of the woods. LOL. hope we'll all have fun!=D

p.s. tak kesah pun kalah dengan Chelsea the other day. but feel sorry for the lads. cos we played really well, even controlled the game i must say. only unlucky not to get a goal and concede THAT kinda goal. but naahh, its fine. u cant cross out Utd just yet, YOU know that ;)

as usual after subuh, as early as 6.30am we'd head out to Sban, and since it was THAT early, we had no problem with traffic. its so scary seeing the news, the number of ppl dead due to road accidents :( and also seeing a few cars crashed along the roadside. please drive safely dear ppl! and dont forget to wear ur seat belts! even at the back!

went to Atok's house, where Pak Di's, Mak Teh's, Auntie Krim's, and Pak Cu's family were there. Weeee. imagine the noise! Abah is the 4th child out of 8 ;) We also went to raya at Wan Teh's and Mak Long Ani's place, here, we put Muiz on loud speaker. He's spending his first raya away from home in Aussie. Kesian x dapat duit raya :P

in the evening, we left for KL. Went to Tok Bang's place at PJ. Finally get to see all of Uncle Shafiq's children! they live in Swak so it's pretty hard to see em all the time. Also got to meet Najla who came back from a long stay at Wales. they're all sooo adorable!:) Met my fave cuzzie Jannah (who just took a BIG leap, my time lama lagi. confirm. haha!) there after awhile since she's studying in Jordan. pssst. if you're reading this Aqelah, ure my fave cuzzie TOO, no worries :P hope Auckland is treatin ya good hunny.

Next we went to Auntie Noni's house which was just around the corner, i finally get to meet Firman's (a.k.a Fiwman) new baby sister! Sofia. not sure of the spelling. she's just 3 weeks old! she looks sooo small. awww :) n also they have a new kitten! grrr chumell!

after Auntie Noni's, we rushed back home to have our Maghrib prayers. next house would be Pak Long's at Taman Melawati. while we were on our way, the Manchester Derby already started! So we tuned in to Bussiness FM (according to my sys)- 89.9. they have live match commentary! AWESOME! Rooney's goal came in the car! LOL. managed to see the replay. Rooney is always there! love you man.

as soon as we reached Pak Long's place, i literally ran inside the house. as expected, ESPN was already on (Abg Boy). And the moment i saw the TV screen, i saw Foster made that stupid mistake which lead to a Barry goal. Dude, Tevez was ur ex team mate, dont u know he likes to kacau keepers like that? and this is not the first time u've made this error! how do u expect us to have faith that u're gonna be England's hopeful goalie for World Cup n most importantly, Edwin Van Der Sar's successor? STOP the crap PLEASE.

i know this may seem bad, but i totally ditched my surroundings. i sat riiiite in front of the tv screen, ignoring everything. but occasionally i was interrupted by Nabil who sat on my lap almost the entire time playing his PSP, Amira arguing with Amir, and the cutie pie Mirza (a.k.a Miwza) playing board games beside me. but i did remember getting up at half time to makan. haha

Pak Long's house was automatically transformed into a complete mamak stall atmosphere. Since the final score was a 4-3, 7 goals in total, so can u imagine the shouts! not to mention gaduh dengan Abg Husni lagi (Liverpool sesat booo!). owh there was a funny part. Abg Husni has always taught his son Miwza to hate United, but when United scored, Miwza would celebrate together with us and hug me! Hahaha. Sorry abg husni :P Abg Husni also mislead Miwza by asking him to sing 'boring boring Man Utd' instead of glory glory Man Utd. Cissss.

back to the match, my Giggsy played exceptionally well. he looked calm, cool, and composed while making that cross to Fletcher, which was then converted into a goal. Thank you u two! 2-1 to United.

but i dunno why, i had a feeling they were gonna concede a goal rite after that one, and indeed i was rite. Craig Bellamy with a stunning shot, managed to find the back of the net. it was a superb finish. Argh! 2-2.

later, AGAIN, Giggs made a terrific cross in, wonderful, and AGAIN, fletcher with another header to give United the lead AGAIN. thank you timeless awesome legendary Giggs & our beloved Unsung hero Fletch. although some critics may see your style of play negatively, i find it world class. u're always there to pick up the ball. u're always there tirelessly running at oppositions. and thank you for contributing a lot of points for my fantasy team :P 3-2 to United

but AGAIN, ferdinand made an error, unusual one from him, which Bellamy then took the advantage and gave City the equalizing goal AGAIN. haiiih. we cant afford to make room for error, bcos it might just cost us the game. Remember that!

the match was about to end, the 4th official signaled 4 minutes of added time. and THEN, Owen came in as a sub to score the winning goal for United! it was a fine finish, who better to score that kinda goal than Micheal Owen huh ;) His goal came in the 5 min 27 second. the match ended at about 96'++ close to 97'.

there was a lot of argument made about the 'xtra' added time. Mark Hughes was furious about it, and i dont blame him. the officials said that the 'xtra' time was to replace the time Bellamy used to celebrate his goal, and also the substitution made by Sir Alex. Plus these two, the added time should extend to about 5 min 26 second if i'm not mistaken. so actually the ref kinda got it spot on (according to sportscentre). HOWEVER, if every goal celebration were to be taken into account, if every substitution were counted, i believe we'd have a longer stoppage time all the time, wont we? We'll leave it to the officials to decide.

But to be fair, United played extremely well. they were outstanding,produced a world class performance (well, if u exclude the blunder made..haha). We deserved to win. I feel sorry for City, but padan muka! u noisy neighbours!:P but from this match we could see that City if not the biggest threat, ARE a dangerous threat this season. they played an away game, were short of their star players (Robinho, Santa Cruz,Adebayor wowee banyak nye striker), but still managed to give United a hard time. Good job (considering all the money they spent weyh! duhh) I reckon they're gonna go all out and win it when we come to visit. this match so far has been the most entertaining Manchester derby game EVER, but we'll see if the other one later this season can top it ;)

the next day we went to Sban. went to Atok's house and Pak Ngah's family pulak was there :) Izzah will be flying off to Egypt this saturday and we'll probably go and send her at the airport. if tak, all the best dear!=)

then we went to Auntie Krim's house where we were entertained by Danial playing the piano n Uncle Atan with his guitar ;) next we went to mama's cousin's house. then i remembered having a looooooong nap upstairs. and when i woke up, mama said we're already leaving. LOL

that night, as i was watching the tv sambil lipat baju, our neighbours came to visit. haha.

the 3rd day, it was our turn to be the hosts. our relatives came by our house after zuhur prayers. we catered around 100 ppl. ok not near 100, but i'm pretty sure it was above 60 ppl. and its quite an accomplishment since we cooked everything ourselves (Mama made spaghetti, Abah made mee curry!), and we had NO maid. so it was the 6 of us doing work non stop! no kiddin! we worked non stop! haha. alhamdulillah everything went well =)

i am so so sorry i havent been updating u guys much on azwan, didnt really have the time to blog properly.

so nway, to those who do not know yet, he is out of the ICU :) he's in the neuro ward, 7C. visiting hours are from 12.30-2.00pm and 4.30-7.30pm. but azwan normally sleeps in the noon, and when ppl go back, he'll wake up =.=' hehe.

if u're going to visit him, please do recite this 7 times:

azwan sent me this to pujuk me some time ago early last year. we had a slight misunderstanding.

i normally am not the type that saves messages, but there are only a few precious text messages that i'd like to keep. and above is one of em.

the thing is, usually it would take me years to consider someone as my bestfriend, but with him it was different, we instantly became bestfriends after a few months of just knowing each other.

quality can sometimes outway quantity.

i cant explain it, maybe its chemistry? we share a lot of things in common, plus his bday is just a day before mine. we'd like to believe that we were twins sort of separated at birth. LOL. which explains why we often call each other bro-sys.

just now there was Doa Selamat & Solat Hajat done at Azam's place, a lot of people showed up. thanks, i'm sure it meant a lot to Azwan's family members.

i'll try and share what i can now because a lot of people have been asking me.

according to his dad, the surgery he had yesterday evening went well. the blood clot was successfully removed. however, there are around 6 minor blood clots that cant be removed, because it is too small, around 2mm. there's also a blood clot somewhere at a very sensitive side of his brain, i'm not sure if they have removed that, or it cant be touched.

he is still unconscious at the moment due to the sedative given. but he should be able to wake up in 1-2 days time.

regarding the car accident, that night they were on the way to the Curve. Azwan was at the back seat, Afi was driving and Tiger was sitting in front. this car was hesitant whether or not to turn, and when their car went forward, that car suddenly went in their way. trying to avoid the car, their car hit a tree from behind, and then the car pusing2, and since Azwan was not wearing a seat belt, perhaps his head hit the window at the time, and afterwards the door terbuka, and he fell out.

i am going to visit him today (finally!)

i know for a fact that Azwan's family and friends are endlessly praying for him, but now we need all the prayers we can. so if you're a stranger to Azwan, just please pray for him as well ok? much appreciated.

i love you bro, we all love you. keep fighting & stay strong.

shocking news

Azwan got into a car accident last nite. i'm not sure exactly what happened, but what i know is that he was at the back seat and he did not wear seat belt kot.

When they brought him to the E.D at Sg.Buloh Hosp last nite he was still unconscious.

This morning they took him into the ICU.

If im not mistaken everything else is fine, but he has got head injuries. And we all know how dangerous and serious head injuries are. It is always very9 worrying.

I hope nothing will happen to him. I hope he will recover fine, he got 4A's for his A Levels!

I asked my mom to keep a close eye on him and keep me updated.

I wanted to go last nite but Mama said he's unconscious pun. I cant go now cos i have test coming up. The earliest i can go is on Thursday.

Everyone please pray that Azwan will be ok. Please Ya Allah help him get through this. Give strength to his family members, friends, and me =( AMIN.

yesterday, around 4+am, i lost a friend. Zahidatul Syazana Zamri. she was my batch mate in TKC. although we werent that close during 5 years in boarding school, but each and every one of my batch mate hold a special place in my heart, always & forever.

but i do remember being quite close with Zahi during Talentime in f1. we were in acapella together. and i'm sure none of us would forget her phenomenal "clap" ;) and of course the helmet incident when we had our camp srikandi thingy.

she had fever few days ago, but just the night before she was already fine. since she suddenly passed away in her sleep, a post-mortem was conducted. it is said that she was H1N1 -ve, but had chronic asthma (she is, asthmatic).

me, deynn & sha were among the early ones (my batch) that came, but we didnt get to see her for the last time :( the jenazah van was already on its way out so we headed straight to the kubur.

i couldnt believe the body wrapped with white all over it was my friend. and we shall never ever see her again in this world.

to my dearest knights, if you're free, please do and visit her family. i'm pretty sure her family would appreciate it a lot. especially her mom, she couldnt help thanking us for coming the other day.

this goes to show that death can occur anytime, anywhere, to anyone, at any age. and it comes without notice. therefore all of us must be ready to face it. our time could be any time.

ANYTHING can happen, and simply beat any kind of odds.

for instance,

my sister stayed in Melbourne (capital of H1N1) for 3 weeks, and Alhamdulillah she arrived home perfectly fine.

my mom is the Head of Emergency Department at the Sg.Buloh Hosp, which means she has been dealing with H1N1 patients almost all the time, and Alhamdulillah till now she has not got the fever.

my dad, only went to a kenduri, the next day he fell sick. got fever for around 5 days, and then was warded. turns out he was +ve for H1N1. but Alhamdulillah he has recovered and has already been discharged. thank you girls for your support.

we might be 20,30, but that doesnt mean we still have a longer period of time on this earth as compared to ppl older than us. death is a certainty. beringat-ingat lah kita & beramal soleh.

let us hope and pray that Zahi will rest in peace. Semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat Allah. Semoga makan dan minumnya dihalalkan. Semoga Allah mengampunkan all her sins. Semoga kuburnya dilapangkan. Semoga all of us will get to meet her in heaven. Amin.

21st july 2009: their whereabouts

ok today i did nothing. but S.e told me that the united players went to play golf at KLGCC (his dad saw the players pass by him! or sumthing like that).

however i also heard that they went to play golf at Mines.

did they go separately? haha. whatever i dunno, but what i know is they went golfing XD

i also called my friend Ganesh up, and he told me he'll be staying at Mandarin Oriental for the night (where the team were staying). he said he had to bulk out all his life savings for it. LOL. but i'm sure it was worth it, cos he got to hang out with the lads! if u have his fb, his profile pic is an intimate pic with Carrick. Grrr. haha.

he was supposed to get my Giggs' autograph as a belated bday gift, but he didnt even get to see him :( urghh giggsy you jual mahal! Hqa was also supposed to get me Giggs' autograph but turns out the VIP passes he got did not allow him to go down the pitch.

i didnt sleep the whole nite. besides wasting time on facebook, i was up making calls here n there, bcos i wanted to find out what time the team will be leaving Msia. according to Nick Coppack (united's official live blogger), they'll be leaving wednesday morning, but of course he did not state the time.

the question i asked:
hello, by any chance do u know what time will Manchester United leave Msia?

the calls i made:

KLIA: sorry, we dont have the flight details, perhaps u can call MAS.
MAS: sorry ma'am but we dont know.
AIR ASIA (mana lah tau kan, they are after all Man Utd's official sponsor, but not sure if they still are): sorry ma'am, maybe u should try and call KLIA.
Mandarin Oriental: sorry ma'am we dont know, Manchester united are not staying here, they only had an event with us. (you liar!!!!)
Palace of the Golden Horses (no waste in just trying..haha): sorry miss but they're not staying here.

so what can i say? my calls were all pointless! LOL. so then i decided to just go to KLIA n stalk em (as i mentioned in the posts before i didnt get to stalk em when they arrived cos i was with my mom) since its very near to my Kolej.

21st July 2009: the failed stalking attempt

at around 5.20am, i woke Wawa & Mas up.

"weyh jommmmmmmm bangun!! jom pergi KLIA! m.u blah pagi ni arr!!"

"criuz nak pergi?"

"YES."

"pukul berapa nak pergi?"

"rite after Subuh arr!"

"huh? 6.30 la."

"hmmm ok ok 6.30"

thennnnnnn, at 6.15am i was all set to go (no sleep obviously!), already in my jersey and everything, only to find that Mas & Wawa were still sleeping!! haha u two =P owh did i mention i was fasting? yeps.

so i waited for them. we left Kolej at around 7-ish, arrived at KLIA around 8am.

the plan was just to wait at KLIA until they arrive. bcos at the website it clearly stated that their flight was wed morn, so we'll only have to stay until noon.

but as usual, things go unexpectedly wrong and we never followed the plan =.='

upon arriving, we went straight away to the information counter.

"hi, hello, by any chance do u know what time Manchester United's flight is at this morning??"

"hmmm, wait let me check. where is their destination?"

"Seoul."

*checks*

" the only flight leaving for Seoul today is at 11.45pm"

So i called Ganesh to ask since he was at the hotel. he said there were 2 possible things. 1- the lady at the counter is bluffing me, or 2- they'll be off by private jet.

acting OUTRAGEOUSLY + STUPIDLY impulsive, i decided we should go to Mandarin Oriental.

at this point in time, Wawa & Mas seemed like they wanted to bail out, cos yknow going to KL means we'd have to fork out more money for petrol and tol. but when i said,

"alaaah tak pe lah,biar fiqss gi sorang je. tak pun, i'll pay for everything but korang ikut?"

then maybe bcos kesian kat fiqss, or bcos we've come this far, they decided to tag along :P

we left KLIA and headed to Putrajaya (cos if we're going to KL,the best way is through MEX). on our way, we came to think that what if they're already on their way to KLIA? it was, already 9-ish am.

so we stopped tengah jalan. i went online on my phone via GPRS (habis lah phone bill :O). visited the live blog, and it said:

08:35 – I always feel as if there's something I've forgotten to pack... We're off to South Korea this morning – it's a six-hour flight, which means the next you hear from me will probably be when we land in Seoul late this afternoon. I hope you've enjoyed all the updates from Kuala Lumpur. I'll start a new blog for the Korea leg of the tour so keep an eye out on the homepage for that one!

from that, we interpreted that at that moment, they were about to leave the hotel room, which meant, they probably ARE on their way!

and so we headed back to KLIA (sabar je lah..). and we even asked the orang tol KLIA whether the team buses have passed by but they just switched shifts. bummer.

so nway we arrived at KLIA before 10am. we saw a few police officers (are they police men? im not so sure..LOL). we managed to ask one of the pakcik to call his mates up and find out what time will United arrive in KLIA, when suddenly,

"oh dik, dorg tak turun kat KLIA la. dorg turun kat Kompleks Bunga Raya. itu tempat VIP. Agung, Sultan suma turun situ. Jadi, memang tak boleh masuk lah. tunggu kat luar je boleh. Pukul 11.30 dorg sampai sana"
we were like, "11.30am.. nice!" (since it was only 10am)

i admit we did waste a bit time afterwards by going to the toilet, paying our parking, etc etc. we arrived at Kompleks Bunga Raya at around 10.35am.

when we got out of the car, all the police officers were laughing at us, saying,

"laaaaaaaa dek, dorang baru masuk! 10.20am tadi!"

the next few minutes we tried to persuade the pakciks to let us in but to no avail (jangan harap la kan..). i even called my mom asking for my Pak Long's num, see if he could get us in. but mama laughed cynically and said Pak Long's busy and she wouldnt wanna disturb him with just this! sighs.

then the 3 buses which carried the team went out from the Kompleks empty. one of the bus drivers saw us and called us to his bus.

he gave us each a small piece of paper, which a signature on it.

"apa ni pakcik? ni sign player mana nih?"

"ntah la, pakcik pun taktau. tapi tadi dia suruh bagi dekat siapa yang datang."

up to now, we still havent figured out whose signature that is. and the other police pakciks were like,

"alaaah, abang bus tu yang tanda tangan sendiri! saya sign pun boleh!"

wahahahaha *mereka gelak ramai2*

SOBS. (i'd still like to believe one of the United players signed it! hahaha)

i wasnt content. so i ajak Wawa & Mas to just sit at this corner, and watch their plane fly. there were 3 planes at that moment, but we were convinced this 1 plane was theirs. while waiting, we displayed my banners (refer to previous post) hoping that from faaaaar they would see it. haha. AS IF!

i totally wanted to just panjat the pagar there as it was sooo easy to do so! but, i didnt wanna go to jail for this. if i were to go to jail, it'd be for sumthing cooler (oh crap wait, this IS super cool! i should've just climbed the fence rite???)

and so we waited..and waited.. (for nothing really..). and when the plane that we suspected were the plane United were on, we left. finally.

i was sooo freakin pissed off. we were only late by a few minutes!! who knows what might have happened if we were early??

maybe the lads would've gotten off the bus to meet us, maybe WE wouldve gotten on the bus to meet them. bcos you know why? there were ONLY THE 3 OF US THERE! nobody else was stalking!

or if worse comes to worst, we couldve actually seen them pass by, or they would probably wave at us, or we couldve waved at them, or take their pictures, basically, just the point of stalking in the first place: to bid GOODBYE!;(

WHO KNOWS WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED???

i was frustrated. devastated. i was sleepy ( i didnt sleep, remember?), hungry (puasa!), mad. and to make everything else worst and even more depressing, i was PMS-ing. urghhh!!

actually i still CAN stalk the team next time they come, i'll be more mature, i'd probably have a job therefore i'd have money to do this n that n probably buy grandstand tickets. but what bugs me is that i know by that time, Giggsy will no longer be in the team ;( ;(

guess i'll just have to wait for him to be the United manager in the future, who knows =)

one things for sure; i'm a failed stalker. i suck at stalking. i'm probably the worst stalker there ever was.

but; this shall be one of the stupid stories i'll tell my children or grandchildren in the future, and we'll all laugh about it. hahaha (i'm already laughing now)

although i was sad, i was also relieved at the same time that they've left, bcos the longer they stay in KL, the longer i'd remain unsettled.

so farewell my lads, hope u've had an awesome time in Msia. i miss you guys already! Haa haa.

20th July 2009: 2nd Man Utd VS Malaysia XI Match

i was afraid i'd have to skip class that day to go to the match. but then guess what? i only have 2 classes on monday, one got canceled, and turns out the other class memang takde, the lecturer was not around. my,my,my, it was fated that i should go!:P

before the match i went to the koperasi and bought 2 black markers, 2 red markers, and 2 pieces of huge mahjong paper. u guessed it alright. i made banners! hehe. poster. ok u can call it wtv u want. i wanted to make one for the first match that would say-

GIGGS MY BDAY'S TOMORROW! SIGN MY SHIRT!

but i didnt. haha. so this time, i made TWO! ;) i had a lil bit help from Mew & Dila to colour it a bit. hehe. thanks girls!:)

i managed to persuade Deyn, Acap, n Nazri to go with me. hehehe :P lucky us that UPM was sooo near to Bukit Jalil! it was less than 30mins drive, and we were already there at around 6-ish pm.

we went to park our car and searched for Ayie n gang bcos they had Deyn, Acap & Nazri's tickets (mine was with Pojue). Yajay n her dad joined us later onwards. since we were quite early, there were some debate on where to sit. the front row 'Bukit Jalil Stretford End' was occupied, but in the middle it was quite lose. however Pojue told me that the view from the grand stand side is awesome so i decided to sit there. the view was indeed incredible, only it was far up. so the posters/banners i made seemed invisible to the press. chehh, i'm not looking for cheap publicity mind you. its just that if my banners were displayed, chances are the United players will see it! Damn. i really wanted them to see it! arrghhh. but i did get attention from my surroundings. LOL. as i held up my banners, a lot of ppl took pictures of me. hahaha.

this one time, this fella asked if he could borrow my banner for awhile, so i let him. he took a picture with it. then u know what? he thought i had left, he didnt realize i was still there. i heard him talking to his buddy,

"ey, nanti kita upload this pic and tell ppl we made this banner lorh!"

wth weyh. thats my hardwork! LOL.

so nway, i had to go back to the booth that sold awesome United stuff cos my mom wanted some more stuff. LOL. i was supposed to buy her keychains, but i ended up buying myself a tshirt. super smart weyh. it's a Giggsy shirt. waaaaaaaaaaaa. i'm not supposed to buy it! cos i'm kinda broke :( but, but, i couldnt resist! i saw this guy buying it and i thought, damn, i should get that too! and i did. there goes my RM50. ahhh, takpe, sayang punya pasal.

here's one thing i'd like to point out. sembahyang. solat.

its actually VERY VERY VERY sad. cos u know why? i can bet all my money that majority of muslims that went for the match did not perform their maghrib prayers :( lets think logic here, if really all of em did perform their maghrib prayers (even if u minus the ones that came after maghrib, or minus the musafir), the surau should still be full. damn full with people. but yknow what? it wasnt at all. lengang some more. sighs.

i dont get it. how can they? how can you? :( i believe that in everything we do, keberkatan from Allah is very important. now because u missed ur prayers for a football match, Allah dah tak redhai ur passion towards football. some of u may think this is absurd or what not but wtv, cos THIS IS IMPORTANT.

sedih sedih. and to think that one of these guys might just be my future husband. HAHAHAAH. (mintak2 yang pergi sembahyang lah kan. LOL)

ok i'm gonna stop it there. siapa makan cili dia terasa pedas.

b4 the game started, the players went on the pitch for their warm up. and Rooney was giving everyone a show! Rooney didnt practice scoring or what not, instead, he practiced goal keeping! LOL. it was really funny. but he managed to save a few shots! maybe he's actually interested but he simply cant cos he's short. haha. bcos i remembered back during FA Cup vs Pompey when Kuszack was sent off and Ferdinand had to be the keeper (a memory that i'd love to erase, urgh, cost us the bloody cup man!), Ferdinand said that b4 he went to the goal post to take the keeper's place, Rooney whispered something to him, giving him tips or sumthing like that. hahaha. rooney, rooney. did u know that ferdinand actually started off his career as a striker? i heard it somewhere sometime ago. gosh sorry man, u just belong at the back :P

i read at manutd.com, that Fergie is going to field a totally different line up than the match before, so i was pretty anxious to know. but the first thing that popped out of my mind was yeayyy giggsy is gonna start, and he did =)

Giggs was awesome. he really was. hehhe. i'd say the match wasnt really interesting. judging from the line up u'd know that Fletcher and Carrick would control the midfield well, giving us no chance of scoring, and that was what happened.

and as you can see both of the goals came in the first 15 mins of the match, United played as if they were training. haha.

We only had a few tries, and when we came close to scoring, somebody would screw it up or nobody would be upfront to support. but i must say our goalie is kinda good doewh despite his height (for a goalie, i mean, look at vds!). he made few great saves!

one obvious thing that nobody cant help but notice is Rajagobal's substitution. its like, every other minute there would be a sub coming in. we were like, yo man, make up ur mind la, buat experiment apa. LOL. but nway he's the coach, i'm sure he knows what hes doing? (or doesnt he? haha)

After the match, i thought the United players were gonna go round the field and bid their goodbyes like the other day but they didnt, they went straight to the bus. i sooooooo wanted to stalk em, and wave at em until they got into the bus, too bad i have a curfew! sheesh. UPM curfew is at midnight. bummer rite? but yknow what, we left the stadium around 11.30pm, but managed to reach my Kolej before midnyt! terror, i know rite? haha.

the next day i had class at 9am! but i didnt sleep early that night, i cant remember what i did :| match hung over i suppose? haha.

Man United Asia Tour 2009 part II

18th July 2009: Match Day. Man Utd VS Malaysia XI

this time we came up with a smarter plan ;) we asked Abah to send us at KL Central, then we took the ERL to Bandar Tasik Selatan and it was no sweat, no waiting, no crowded ppl. and it took us only 10 mins to reach there. but of course it was more costly, but ahhh who cares. comfort!

we arrived at Bandar Tasik Selatan around 3-ish pm, we could've gotten in earlier to book our places but Mama wanted to shop some more. LOL. we bought another United tshirt for Abah =) Mama also had to buy a few stuff her friend kirim. around 4pm we entered the stadium and my God, it was already urm, 60% filled? i assume that those ppl who got the front row RM98 seats probably came at what, 12 noon? haha. lucky them, cos from the front row seats, u get a really clear view of the players.

we sat opposite the grandstand, and i'd say this side of the stadium is the Bukit Jalil Stretford End. LOL. you wanna know why? because there were a few people wearing Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool (ada hati tak?) jerseys, and they got boo-ed by the whole lot, loudly! imagine like what, 10,000++ ppl jeering you at the same time?? those ppl must've pee-d in their pants. hahaha. dont mess with us! :P

so nway our view was quite nice, i liked it :) around 4.40pm Mama went to pray first, then i went. owh owh, this time,we bought a handy cam! and it was awesome! eventhough we were quite far away, we could zoom like really close to the player's face. hehe.

the kick off started at about 5.30pm i think, kinda punctual. the lads came out to the field at about 5pm for warm up.

overall, i find this match very entertaining because it definitely was not one-sided. Malaysia managed to put on a decent fight ;)

Rooney is always expected to score everytime he comes on, so his goal was no surprise =) when Nani scored, as usual he made his trademark somersault and we saw it live :) hehe.

Amri Yahyah (baru kenal. hehehhee. yes yes i know he's selangor's captain rite? awesome!). well, his first goal was splendid. it was a far volley that went right over Vdsar's head, top left if i'm not mistaken. hebat doewh. great strike! he managed to equalize the scoreline with his 2nd goal. it wasn't really amazing, it was actually Ben Foster's blunder =.=' but if he wasnt alert to have taken the opportunity, it wouldnt be a goal :)

Owen then scored the winning goal for United. we witnessed Owen's first goal for United =) (and also, this was their first match with the new home kit on!). So can u imagine, we were level with United up to the 84th minute! impressive! (if u noticed, i usually refer to 'we' as United, but this time, 'we'= Msia =) ) . Fergie praised our defenders, saying that they were not afraid to go one-on-one with the United players.

i'd say our main problem is passing. some poor, horrible, reckless,selfish passing therefore chances were wasted just like that.

but i'd say a 3-2 is good enough! cos the last time united came (2001) we got beaten 6-0 ok! but to be frank, United did main lepak-lepak sahaja. heh

if u must know, during the entire match, although the Bukit Jalil Stadium was like a sea of red bodies, it didnt mean that we were turning back on our country.

the name itself is Man Utd Asia Tour. so duhh, everybody came to see United play, thats why we (the United fans) were dressed in red instead of yellow+black.

although we were in red, most of us there were also supporting Msia, mind you! when Msia attacked, when Msia scored, when Msia had the ball, all of us cheered our hearts out together; MALAYSIA BOLEH!;D

although we were in red, we also brought our Jalur Gemilang (well at least i did. hehe)

so, u get my point rite? LOL.

adrenaline rush is the best word to describe watching a live football match at a stadium. its an awesome feeling.

when the match ended, the players all took their medals, and went around the field to thank us Msian fans. i shouted my lungs out for Giggsy but to no avail. hahaha. Damn.

as i left the stadium, i felt overwhelmed to have finally see my favourite team ever play in front of my very eyes. indescribable feeling. we had our Maghrib prayers there before heading to the LRT. the queue to enter LRT itself was madness, they actually had to close the gate so that ppl would not enter (safety purposes). after standing in a sardine of humans for about 20mins, we managed to get in the train. kesian Mama kena himpit2. she said,

"i must be the oldest person in this train!"

i looked around, and indeed she was! cool kan kan my mom :) hehehe. but she said that this would probably be the last time she'll ever do something like this. LOL. fair enough.

when we reached Bandar Tasik Selatan and went on the ERL, we felt like VIPs. LOL. there was a super duper huge crowd of ppl waiting for the KTM, while we went in the ERL so carefree. haha.

Abah then picked us up at KL Central, and we arrived home around 10pm.

At home, the news was all about the suicide bombing in Jakarta (my commiserations). in relation to that, i got a text msg from my friend saying that United might play against Msia AGAIN. i was like, whaaaaaaaaat? i then quickly opened my most viewed website (besides Facebook), manutd.com. and it said,

"2nd match against Malaysia confirmed"

the match was on a Monday, and i had to go back to UPM that day. so since i would be in UPM, and i had to have somebody with a car, i called Faez up :P but he was like,

"huish fiqss, tak puas ke doewh?? nak pegi lagi ke?"

to tell u the truth, the night was awesome. i was indeed,'puas'. but we're talking about Man Utd here, my obsession! so i just didnt wanna miss anything out!

i discussed with Pojue on how to get the tickets and such, and in the end, i got it from him, so thanks mate :) (i'll bank in the money tomorrow!! hehe). also thanks to Afiq cos the ticket was a bday gift from him, i didnt spend a peny :P Hehehe

full house man, except for the RM308 boxes. too expensive la for me :(

Man United Asia Tour 2009 part I

this is gonna be a legend- wait for it- dary- legendary long post! its cos i havent blogged in such a long time, with loads to tell. and i'm gonna make it a detailed one. a VERY detailed one. because i wanna be able to read it back some time in the future and remember everything ;) so, no, i dont mind at all if u dont read all of em. LOL

17th July 2009: Training Session.

United arrived at KLIA around 11am. to tell u the truth, i would sooooooooooo love to stalk the team that day, but i was with Mama right, so i couldnt ditch her :S Pojue and Khalidah went to stalk em for the entire day and he managed to get Rooney to sign his jersey! damn you! owh well, u deserved it. stalker berjaya :P

lets begin the day now shall we.normally, the earliest Mama would leave her workplace is around 5.30pm, but today was an exceptional case :P she left around 2+pm, and at 3pm we left the house and headed to Kepong Central and parked the car there. we decided to just take the train as it'd be easier than to drive (jam).

KTM Kepong Central --> Bandar Tasik Selatan--> STAR LRT Bukit Jalil.

the training is scheduled to start at 5.30pm, we arrived there around 4.20pm. we had our Asar prayers first before entering the stadium, had a quick burger, and some shopping. there were these Man Utd Official Merchandise booths that sold awesome stuff! i bought this really cool black United tshirt, we bought one for my bro, and Mama got herself one as well.

although we bought the RM98 tickets, the training session was set to free seating obviously. we sat behind the goal, usually for a match that aint a really good spot, but during the training, most of them were at the edge of the field, so i kinda had a clear view. hehe.

they came out at about 6-ish pm, the crowd cheered like hell when the United players sat foot on the pitch, including myself. i couldnt believe that i was just a few feet away from the players that i adore! owh but i was really devastated to know that Hargreaves & Vidic did not join the tour :(

the training went on for about an hour, it finished around 7+pm. we quickly took the train, the LRT was just fine. eventhough it was jam packed, but there's just 2 stops to Bdr Tasik Selatan. the tedious part was the KTM. as usual it was not on time, which resulted to double massive human jam.

finally we got on, thought of having our Maghrib prayers at home but we weren't sure we'd reach there in time so we stopped at KL Central instead. had SUBWAY for dinner there, and when we were ready to leave, we heard a typical announcement,

"tren ke rawang telah mengalami kerosakan dan akan tiba dalam masa, 30 minit" =.='

its a good thing i was with mama, i suggested to her that we go Coffee Bean and so we did :P

we arrived at home around 9-ish pm.

The Confederations Cup gave us all an awesome hint on what we're gonna get for next year's World Cup, and i cant wait!

who knew US could go that far, get 3 red cards in 4 matches, won 3-0 against the exciting Egyptians then went into the semi finals by goal difference, ended Spain's unbeaten run, and led Brazil 2-0 at half time during the finals.

who knew. damn you Americans. LOL

South Africa 2010, here we come!! i wonder when i can see my own country entering though. hmmmmm

the summer transfers are just driving me up and about as always.

regarding Ronaldo's departure, i believe it will open more opportunities to the team. i've kinda wrote about my opinion on the issue during last summer transfers. even though that was written last year, i still feel the same way. only now, my hatred towards Real Madrid have grown instantly bigger.

they have now got Ronaldo, Kaka' (u still do not have my blessing honey), Benzema (damn IT!!), Albiol, and Ribery recently reveals he only wants to go to Bernabeu and no other place, while Xabi Alonso is also a target (and many more..). now let us just sit, wait, and see whether or not all the big money spent shall see them take back the title as La Liga champs from Barca, and the Champions League as well for that matter.

WE WILL SEE !

i expect Valencia to fire us up next season, Berba to perform, and Rooney to become more awesome than he already is, provided that he plays where he belongs, Hargreaves to come back, Vidic & Ferdinand to become stronger than before, more positive headache selections for midfield, and possible promoted youngsters from the reserves.. and of course i expect us to win the title once more =)

and obviously i expect Fergie to sign a few more players as we actually have the money to spend.

but i am also expecting tougher competition from Liverpool (considering how they were down our necks last season), Chelsea with Carlo Ancelotti. Arsenal? not much of a threat compared to those 2 teams to be honest. haha =p but one thing i've learnt is never under estimate your opponents, otherwise they'll leave u dumbfounded.

on the news that Michael Owen probably would sign for United soon, my first reaction was- wtf. my mom's was 'whaaaaat man!!!!!!!!!'. LOL. its awfully weird, he's what 29 30? ancient. but come to think about it, it is a free transfer, and also a pay-as-u-play deal. and this piece here just enlightened me more.

i'm a fan of a lot of Michael Jackson songs, but my personal favourite would be this, simply because of the message it conveys. and also because my batch performed this when we were in f2 =) (side show for English Drama)

i'm not so sure about the speculation of him converting into a Muslim is true or not, but i hope it is, true.

when my band mates and i were still in school, we would makan-tido-bangun-main-HIDUP band. LOL. or in other words, our lives were revolved around band. the spirit, passion and obsession in us were too strong,

and i dare say, it is still there, and will go nowhere :)

but of course, we can, no longer makan-tido-bangun-main-HIDUP band as other obligations wont allow us to.

nway, there's plenty of things i'd like to talk about, but i better just focus on one thing, and i'm writing this straight away because i really wanted to blog about PPM some time ago, but then i kept delaying, and now it seems 'basi' already if i were to talk about it, dont u think? LOL.

the week before the competition day itself, a few of us went to college to pay a visit to the band members, and we also slept there (it was aweeeeeesomee.. ok thats another story). my parents at times would question why i'm always willing to sacrifice my time, energy and money for the band, and i get pretty annoyed about it. but i wouldnt blame them entirely. bcos u see, my sister coaches the TKC debate team for real, while me, i probably wasnt the best drummer or timpanist the kyds would want to teach em, but i KNOW that i can offer my full support and motivate them to the fullest. yes i know k.fiqah kuat bebel, but its for ur own good u kids :P

its kinda similar to PPM. i'm not a debater or a basketballer yet i come and support the team whenever i can. its just a strong sense of belonging to the college. this feeling that u'll forever owe a lot to TKC for the person u are today.

ok ok ok. back to the story.

during our stay there, i discovered that the song they are bringing (Disney Festival) to the finals is good enough, and judging from the way they play, we were pretty hopeful of at least, landing a spot in the top 3 this year.

and, Alhamdulillah, 1st place goes to TKC :)

we were dead nervous when they were announcing the results, but as usual, this would help A LOT-

our school kinda had this advantage; when the consolation prizes were handed out, as soon as we heard a 'Sekolah' in the front, a big sigh of relief would come out! If i'm not mistaken the last consolation prize went to MCKK. And boy were we relieved that it was 'Kolej Melayu'.

so u can guess, the moment they announced SDAR as the runner-up (the word 'Sekolah'), the PICC hall was shaken by our shouts and tears of joy. none of us could contain our happiness. it was hysterical i tell you. i was overwhelmed, i CRIED. i did. and i'm not ashamed to admit it, but nangis as in watery eyes, bukan nangis sampai tears rolling down my cheek lah (ini bukan cover ye). ok wtv not important.

i was so proud of the girls. although i wasnt the one, WE weren't the ones playing on that stage, it was a feeling to share.

the f5 band girls this year are a REALLY lucky bunch, and we have been reminding them that ALL the time! they've had maximum exposure towards band since they were in f1, up to f5, and so they managed to learn a lot more than we did when we were juniors. they had more opportunities. and they were given strong basic skills in their sophomore year. and i'm glad we (my batch) played a part in helping them develop =) its really the same every year, we owe a few things to our seniors as well.

so to f5 band, thank you soo much for ur contribution all these while, and jangan hang-over orchest for too long :P focus on whats the next big thing- SPM! 1st in msia. have faith sisters. InsyaAllah =)

to the other juniors, just remember what we talked about in the hall ;)

we'll continue on supporting the band for as long as we can, we'll try and make time every year although things will get busier for us then. but just know that no matter what happens, our prayers are always with u girls :)

on the issue of PPSMI

as all of you know the education ministry plan to make the English subject a must pass for SPM. i personally think this is a smart move.

note that it is only a 'pass', and i believe that is very, VERY reasonable.

almost 70% of students who take English pass the subject. so what we need to do is focus on these other 30%.

when we talk about this matter, it's hard not to touch the issue of PPSMI.

among the main reasons people are against PPSMI:

1. the students in rural areas find it hard to cope.

it's hard enough to comprehend all those science theories and stuff, but the main problem here is that they don't even understand the language. they cant even grasp what is taught.

i agree that those who have a good command in English may have the upper hand, but that doesnt mean the others cant excel.

i believe that instead of making our way OUT of it, we should try and work our way AROUND it.

the ministry should find ways to encourage these children to gain interest in learning English, or perhaps help them in any creative way they can.

we need dedicated, top-notch quality, determined sincere teachers who are able to teach these kids properly.

the ministry could also give away free dictionaries to these students, a translation dictionary or whatever type of books they feel would help.

u may think i'm being insensitive towards their situation, that i am not, a kampung girl therefore i wouldnt understand how much PPSMI has been troublesome towards them.

truth is, it aint that, its that i BELIEVE in them. i believe that with much desire and conviction to excel, they CAN make it. WE can make it. 'kalau tidak dipecahkan ruyung, manakan dapat sagunya', betul?

it's high time we take this challenge instead of being 'katak bawah tempurung'.

nobody said it's going to be easy, it WILL take time. 'berakit-rakit ke hulu, berenang-renang ke tepian, bersakit-sakit dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian'.

2. Bahasa Melayu will soon dissipate and be forgotten.

its ironic that a few leaders who are actually against PPSMI, had their education in English during their days, and feel that the children now will not love our bahasa.

well arent they a living proof that even if u did learn in english, u'd still love your bahasa, and would want to fight for it, to protect it?

instead of finding excuses and making a whole lot of fuss on how PPSMI would deteriorate our bahasa, find ways to actually UPLIFT, our bahasa.

and for god sakes, only the science and maths subjects are taught in english rite? all the other subjects like Sejarah, Agama Islam, etc etc are still taught in B.Melayu arent they? and i believe most of us converse in Malay most of the time!

'Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa', i wholeheartedly agree with this, as the best way to differ a community of humans is from these two things.

so indeed B.Melayu is IMPORTANT, but English is also equally as important, (or some may say more) especially in this era of globalization. we need to accept this, and move forward with the rest of the world, and fit IN. 'masuk kandang kambing mengembek,masuk kandang kerbau menguak'.

if we were to list out the pros and cons of PPSMI, i'm pretty sure the pros will surely outway cons. it's just that some people are still afraid of CHANGE. 'yang lama dikelek, yang baharu didukung', shouldnt it be that way?

PPSMI shall not only help students be better at conversing in English, but also as a preparation when they start their degree life. those studying abroad would obviously be studying in English or some other foreign language, while those in local universities will continue with the English medium.

the only reason i would oppose to PPSMI, is that if the education ministry plans to change everything into B.Melayu, and ALL our subjects 100% in B.Melayu. Our references, ALL in B.Melayu. From the primary school, to the secondary, up to the higher education.

most people would simply give Japan as an example of a country that uses its own mother language. but did you know that during the Meiji period, in the 19th century, they used English as their medium for more than a 100 years. perhaps if that didnt happen, would they be standing tall as of where they stand now? it was their willingness to LEARN from other people.

i believe Malaysia can get there. we can actually 'duduk sama rendah, berdiri sama tinggi' with other developed countries, some day.

whatever the decision may be, i hope it will then not be changed further more in the future. otherwise the students would all go 'pening lalat'.

excuse me if my peribahasa were not correctly placed, at least i tried? and dont you dare for a second doubt my love towards my Bangsa and Bahasa upon me agreeing with PPSMI!

it's the cup presentation now and i can't bring myself to watch. i really wanted to win, i went into the game with no thought of losing at all. i had a winning mentality.

but really, Barca clearly deserved to win, they played beautiful football, always have. Pep Guardiola is a mad man. 1st time in charge of top flight football and he's lead Barca to a treble. He surely is the next big thing. Unbelievable.

But Sir Alex Ferguson is still the best manager in my eyes.

the game plan was to put up a team just like against Arsenal, with Ronaldo up front, Rooney on the left, Park on the right.

So nway, as i expected, when that didnt work, we just had to put Tevez in, and if that didnt work as well, put Berba in. but it STILL didnt work. Barca's midfield just seem to outplay ours. Iniesta and Xavi are very creative players.

I was disappointed with our passes, some sloppy passes, and when u play against a team like Barca, u must try and keep possession because if once they get it, it's hard to get the ball back. they have accurate passing. do NOT give the ball away cheaply.

for Eto'o's goal, i thought Vidic could have done better. and for Messi's goal,it was a great cross, no doubt, but Ferdinand, you SHOULD have done your job.

but i wouldnt put the blame on Vidic n Ferdinand, they've been great the entire season. it would be unfair to do so.

As a conclusion, all i can say is, the better team won. No excuses. Congrats Barcelona!

Oh well, there's always next season. Oh no no, unlike other teams that ALWAYS say 'next season,next season' but they get nothing, we're different. When i say next season, it IS next season, that we ARE going to go all out for it again.
